I did it again, didn’t I.

I started writing here again, and it went well for a few days, and then back to my old habits of not updating. Life is strange sometimes when even something you want to do doesn’t seem worth the effort. I’m churning a lot around in my head these days.

I still haven’t full started the low FODMAP and now I’m waiting on a doctor’s appointment at the end of June. So that may or may not be something that happens in the future – it’s fairly likely, but I need that medical side done first.

That leaves this blog – what is the purpose here? I guess it’s going to just become a journal of sorts. I’m going to go back to tracking the things I do. I actually have a draft started from a project I completed a couple weekends ago that I need to finish and publish.

Since this is my blog, I guess it can be whatever I want? I’m interested to see where it goes from here as I get back into the world and try to live the best life I can. I just want to bring everyone else along with me.

I really do enjoy building left sets, in fact I even have a specific Instagram set up for it – feel free to follow if you want to see my LEGO content!

There’s also a connected Twitter account and YouTube but neither of those are being updated currently. Eventually those will come into play as well.

Tonight, I decided to finally build the Amelia Earhart promo build I got awhile ago. It’s a neat looking build but it has some minor structure issues. It keeps falling off the base of you so much as look at it wrong. Still, it was a fun, simple build.

Done!

I don’t know if I will post more builds here or not. Might just stick with Instagram for now, or create a site just for Zanjo Bricks.

While I had planned to start today, that didn’t happen. I forgot about yesterday being a holiday so I didn’t get my grocery situation sorted out. I need a good list of what to buy and an idea of what meals I will eat. I’ve been looking up stuff online and that helps. Will be starting soon though because I know I need to just do it.

Wanted to share this site for anyone curious about low FODMAP cooking. I’m using this to get ideas for meal planning.

I’m always thinking of things, past things, future things, imaginary things. Just things pretty much all the time. This isn’t a bad thing, most of the time, but it makes me wonder what is my purpose.

We are given this opportunity called life but now are faced with deciding so many things. Little things like what to have for breakfast to giant things like your entire core belief system.

I sometimes think about things I’ve done in the past and how they may or may not have lead me to where I am. I’m a tinkerer, a hobbyist of many trades, I enjoy diverse activities but never really master any.

As easy as they start, they end, but they can start again if I try. So then I wonder, why not work harder to become more skilled at one or two things? I guess it’s a form of fear of missing out but for opportunities?

I want to get back to doing the things I know give my life meaning. Writing in this blog consistently is one of those things. So here are my plans/ideas that are just sitting in a holding pattern.

– Writing – I used to love to write, especially fiction, but for some reason I stopped

– Reading – my to read pile is ridiculous, I should make a post just about that

– Podcast – I mean everyone has one so why not. I have the equipment, the idea, the computer to record and edit on. I just never make the time to do it.

– Music – I don’t practice nearly enough and then wonder why I’m not skilled. My keyboard and my ukulele need my time as well.

– Photography and videography – again, I don’t make time for this

The list goes on but I think we all see the trend. Poor time management. I suppose this rambling post will come to an end now. I have planning to do. If you read this far, thank you.

Ever know you need to do something but you don’t really want to do it?

Enter the low FODMAP diet. I should have tried this a few months ago but I keep putting off starting. I know it’s important and it could help me feel a lot better but it’s a struggle.

I don’t fully understand all the ins and outs but this is an elimination diet to try and find trigger foods for my otherwise completely messed up digestion system.

You remove a bunch of foods with high FODMAPs for a period of time and then slowly add them back and see what happens.

FODMAP Guide

Preparation is going to be key. I bought the Monash University FODMAP app because it is apparently a really handy tool.

This weekend looks like a great time to get my prep work in place and start it next week. I hope it’s actually helpful because it’s a lot of work.

I also think posting here will help keep me accountable and I can document the process for myself and others.

Anyone have any advice for someone starting low FODMAP?

I feel bad but honestly not much happened today worth noting. I went to work and did work stuff. I ate some gummy worms and later bbq pulled chicken. I also watched a bunch of really old College Humor videos. It was like going back in time.

Tonight’s tea: chamomile vanilla

Good night all!

Hello once more, internet! Welcome to my attempt at a daily blog that’s just a simple journal. I’m really just working on getting into the habit of blogging and plan to expand from here back to more specific blog posts.

Today was the first time we tried playing Dungeons and Dragons on Tuesday evening instead of Friday. It would have went alright if the weather had stayed nice. However, we got storms tonight and a couple people, including our DM, lost power. It’s really hard to play online D&D without power.

About all we accomplished was a shopping spree with some new found money. My character, a somewhat mysterious Owlin Warlock, got a propeller helm and studded leather armor. The helm was bought second hand so the magic is broken but it still has a fun propeller.

Weather wise, the storms were pretty intense at times but moving rather fast. There were a couple of tornado warnings nearby but nothing close enough to worry about. We did get some small hail that Cooper did not approve of at all.

Tonight’s tea: no tea, I didn’t get around to making it and figure it wasn’t a big deal.

Hope everyone is safe and secure. Goodnight, friends!

Back again for another Monday of work, doing various tasks and what not. Rather uneventful day, which was nice.

About the only thing new I tried was a game called Tinytopia. I bought it off Steam for $14.99.

Tinytopia – tiny town management

I only played the first 4 levels and it was fun. You have objectives to meet and you can build various levels of buildings based on how you place and stack pieces. The stacking can be difficult at times and everything can fall over like dominoes and create a lot of fires and bodies of people on the ground in need of medical assistance.

There’s a UFO level where you have to stack trailers to create trailer towers and it really reminded me of Ready Player One. For $15, I’d say it’s worth a try if you like resource and time management type sims.

Tonight’s tea: sleepytime extra

That’s all from me, have a good evening, and see you tomorrow!

Sunday, specifically this Sunday, was dedicated to not doing anything productive. I even did some napping. I am pro-nap but I probably shouldn’t be napping if I’m trying to fix my sleep schedule. I will say I let me schedule lax over the weekend but back at it tonight!

I have been trying out the different assortment of cheeses that Aldi offers. Today’s cheese was But First Coffee; cheddar rubbed with espresso and lavender. I thought it was pretty good overall, the cheddar was nice and the espresso added an interesting flavor. That being said, I did not like the lavender parts and could have done without it. 4 out of 5 cheese wheels.

Coffee Cheese?

Tonight’s chill down included sleepytime extra tea and doing some crisscross puzzles. I really enjoy crisscross or full-it-in puzzles, basically placing words or numbers into a word cross but instead of clues, you just know the words and lengths (sometimes it’s numbers)

Sleepy well my friends and see you tomorrow!
